-
Water Parameters: They prefer slightly acidic to neutral, soft to moderately hard water typical of slow-moving South American rivers.
-

Appearance and Behavior
-
Colors: Silver-gray base with a prominent black lateral spot, blue-green iridescent face markings, and hints of orange or yellow on the fins.
-
Compatibility: Suitable for larger, mature community aquariums with tankmates such as larger tetras, barbs, rainbowfish, or other moderate cichlids.
-
Environment: Appreciate a tank with plenty of swimming space, caves, and places to hide among driftwood or rocks.
They are sometimes confused with or sold under the name Bujurqi or Pendex cichlid.
